Decoding the Difference: How cycling & outdoor enthusiasts overlap and differ. Across markets, genders and mindsets

When is the ‘outdoor’ audience united? And when is it fragmented?

SHIFT Active Media presented their findings from a multi-market study covering the US, UK and key EU markets, at the Sea Otter Summit, in Monterey, California on the 17th of April.

Using a data driven approach to identify the commonalities and differences between Cyclists and Outdoorists - SHIFT looked at how these differ by market, and by gender. We also - importantly identified how to help brands and organisations understand how they can use these insights to improve the way in which they connect with new and existing consumers.

SHIFT Active Media's research draws on a unique mix of bespoke research, analysis from their proprietary data sets and qualitative insights from their expert network.

The Sea Otter Summit marked the first sharing of this new study.
